Ice it (no heat) and rest.

I kinked my back last week from a combinatio of heavy squats and dead lifts; I gave it a full week off. Its doing much better. I'll try a short workout tomorrow to see how it responds.

If you have a muscle rub, you can try it at night as well. It has limited effectiveness.

I also tried a good quality antioxidant (NO Oxidant) and was surprised that it hastened the healing of my back.

I don't use NSAIDs if I can help it. Too hard on the liver and kidneys.
