I was thinking that it would be a great deload. Glad you said this.

Something great to do for 1 week or maybe 2 , but I couldn't see anything good coming from doing it for months on end.

trust me not much does!!!

despite all the negative stuff i've said about Mentzer and his "theory", as a competitive bber i still think the guy had one of the best physiques in the history of the sport. big, but asthetically pleasing, awesome taper and his arms were mind boggling!

That is the silliest plan I have ever heard. Didn't you have a journal on this very same thing? Do you really think that you can progress doing ONE rep a week?

You need to learn some basic grandaddy laws of exericise physiology. This is why people shouldn't be getting their foundation from boob bodybuilders preaching pseudo-science.

So as I understand it..you will do one rep per movement and expect progression. But when progression doesn't happen you will JUMP to the conclusion that you need to do LESS than one rep a week. WOW.

You are probably right but I need to see it by myself. I chose to test everything even if it means long period of stagnation/regression.

Yes I have. In fact I already made progress in 2007 with One Rep per exercise (I trained several times per week) but finaly overtrained (due to my to high frequency) it's why this time I want to try a lower frequency and eventualy a super low frequency if needed as advocated by Mentzer.

BTW I do a Single at 95-100% of the 1RM, excepted on curl where I'll train one arm with 100% and the other arm with 95% ~2RM for only 1 rep. I'm not advocating this to anyone but if you are interested you can take a look in my journal. In 6-10 weeks we should already have an idea if it works or not.

Because I want an "optimal training". I don't want to do 5 sets if 2 are optimal, train 3x per week is 2x is optimal, train at 100% if 95% enough, etc. Years ago I tried to determinate Optimal Training via theory (it's why I was very interested by HIT and especially Heavy Duty) but now I know that there is only one way to know : TEST IT. It'll take a few years but I may found what's Optimal and eventually be able to build my own theory based on my experiences. I already have my ideas but I need confirmations through practice !

You have to keep in mind that Mike menzter, and every pro bodybuilder are genetic freaks. They could almost do any kind of training (for the most part) and they will still look great.

Although I don't follow it, I think the best training advice will come from those doing strengh/ power lifting type of training.

Not from a Bodybuilder that is trying to set himself apart from the other bodybuilders to sell is ideas
