My bench form is solid, I want to replace benching with dumbell presses because I never have a spotter at my gym and I'm afraid to fail plus I think in the long run dumbell presses (or are they called flyes?) are better overall, I felt like benching was just training me the newby, it says so and Mark Rippetoe even says ultimately dumbell presses are better. DB benches and DB flys are two totally different things. DB flys are an isolation movement while DB benches are the same as BB just done with DB's. Many have complained that they didn't like DB bench as much because you can't lift as much weight. However the reason for this is because you will lift more weight when both arms are working together to push the same thing. It's always good to switch up and try to vary between DB/BB benches in your cycle.
