Default Squats and deadlifts on the same day

Hello:

I currently do a 3 day split where I hit my whole upper body twice a week (Mondays and Thursdays) and my legs once a week (Fridays)

Currently on my leg day I squat and deadlift in addition to hitting the calves and hamstrings. I’m wondering if squatting and deadlifting on the same day is a good idea or if it might be a bit of overload and maybe I would be better served to deadlift on one of my upper body days.

Thanks for any input,
Justin.

Here's what I think you should do:

Monday:
Deadlifts
Bulgarian Squats
Pull-ups
Rows
Abs

Wednesday:
Bench Press
Shoulder Press
Biceps
Triceps

Friday:
Squats
Pull-ups
Glute Ham Raises
Abs

How deep do you squat and how do you plan to progress?

I've done both. I've done DL on a different day and I've also tried it after squat. Generally speaking I'd say it's better to do DL on a different day, but either can work.

I start lower body days with squats and end with deads. Otherwise, I have no motivation to do them.
