Squats on Upper Body days

Let me preface this with "I'm a n00b"

Started a new routine today doing squats, cleans, bench, military press, dips, pull ups, and some core work.

Do I need to cut leg press from my lower body days to let my legs recover from the squats?

Why do leg press at all? Squats should be all you need.... well and deadlifts (which I don't see in there).

If you are going to do leg press then it should as an accessory lift to squats.

If you are a newbie then squats should be enough I think. I sometimes use leg press after squats to further exhaust my leg muscles. But I'm not sure you'd need to do this if you are still a newbie.

The squat can be regarded as a whole-body workout to build muscle. This is due to the fact that the bar is positioned on top of the shoulders and power must travel from the legs where it is generated to the bar. The body transmits the power from the quadriceps via the calves to the floor in order to push the whole body against it and provide leverage. The power from the quadriceps then flows from the floor upwards through the upper body to the barbell in order to raise it. This means the upper body must be able to transmit this force.
