I just finished two runs through DF 5x5. At first Ass to grass squatting was hard, but when I finished two cycles, I was squatting more A2G that I used to when I only went parallel - I added over 40 pounds to my squatt in 3 months....Good stuff.

Very nice to see you here Eric! Same here. I believe anyone can parallel squat big numbers, but A2G seperates men from the boys. It's refreshing to see people's signatures at other forums saying their 18 years old, bench: 200 lbs, deadlift: 315, squat: 405  [they forget to mention it's a quarter squat with a belt and knee wraps] BTW, if anyone thinks they can squat more than deadlift, then their not old enough to buy a pack of cigarettes! I think I started A2G with 225 lbs and ended with 285 x 5 after 2 5x5 cycles...Probably could still do more. After my deload I'm aiming for 295-315 x 5 A2G after three cycles.

Yeah. I wonder if it's worth it, trading your knees for higher numbers on your signature?

how does one perform these a2g squats? i know about half squats and full squats (where you get your thighs parallel to ground - which is what i do). please enlighten me. (various searches yield no info, and the search function on this forum won't take < 4 characters)

also i've noticed with this new workout that i don't really get very sore. i'm finishing my last set at about 85pct of my max and i cannot do another rep when i am done, but the next day it doesn't feel like i worked out. at least not like it did when i was doing (monday: chest/tri, tue: back/bi, thu: legs, fri: shoulders). am i doing something wrong? i do exactly what is stated in 0311's previous post on this thread, with the exception of powercleans. my gym doesn't have the proper equipment/facilities to do cleans and on the workout it says you can substitute rows, which is what i do.
