Default Can't get stimulated

I seem to be experiencing difficuly stimulating my outer pecs especially the lower outer pecs.

I cannot seem to develop that seperation between my outer pecs and my lats...the serratus muscle (which seperates the two) is hard for me to target and stimulate as well (I know this muscle is key in providing seperation)

Here is what I have already tried and continue to try doing...
Dips
BD and Cable Flyes
BB Rowes
DB Pullovers.

Now I should say that it does not look terribly bad...but that has always been an area of frustration for me. I have read some time ago that some muscles have may have smaller nerve ending which reduces stimulation or casues one difficulty to find that mind muscle connection to that area of the body.

Would appreaciate some thought and ideas on what could be done about this...if anything at all.

Thanks TC!

I'm sure 0311 will chime in with a much better explination, but sufice to say, you cant isolate one part of a muscle. Your either working your pecs, or your not. Outer, inner, upper, lower there is no such thing, lift heavy, build the whole thing, and the lagging parts will come around eventually.

I would concentrate on compounds, leave the flys alone, they dont do much for you.

The serratus will poke through once your lats develop and since they're (serratus) a fairly smaller muscle, they might only come through with diet. Similar to abs you may need to drop BF to make them show.

Muscle shape is primarily defined by genetics. But I'll leave that one for the Big Guy to answer.

I have heard others say this...flyes are supposed to give you that deep stretch (same as DB pullovers). Now I do like the way the pullovers feel...but don't seem to get satisfactory results from flyes no matter how strict I perform the movement.

Yup Yup...genetics do play that role no doubt. For the Endo body types (like myself) gotta really watch what I eat...and do cardio regularly....I hate cardio. lol.

I agree with Kane, I think you will notice it alot more with lower bodyfat.

TALO's Sig:"But when do you actually grow? Well, we don't grow in the gym. In the gym, we destroy. We tear down the body. We only grow when we are recovering. That's right, I said recovery. I see it all the time--people beating themselves up in the gym and not seeing results. They don't understand that hitting the weights hard is only a small part of growing or even cutting down. I could train the same all year round and get big or get ripped just by eating different and taking different supplements"

Try some sparring or punching bag cardio work, great for losing weight whilst working out the serratus.

Good job guys. You cannot isolate a piece of a muscle. Genetics aside, if you continue trying to progressively get stronger and stronger in regards to the COMPOUND exercises, your muscles will continue improving. That being said, once you start dropping bodyfat, you'll start to see more and more seperation and details.
