ME Bench Day
AWW shitty day today, just couldnt get going, I benched close grip today, missed 108.5kg twice.The first one was technical cos I suck, but the 2nd attempt squashed me! did a couple sets with normal grip, these felt great but I was spent so i repped out with 60kg close grip and did some chins to finish.Kept it short cos i gotta squat tonight cos my days got mixed around. Hips were bothering me a little today so I didnt squat wide, also next week being my deload I said fuck it and worked up.Hit 151kg with a medium stance and ok depth missed 161kg which would have been an all time PR.I bureid that fucker deep tho just need to get stronger! moved to hypers next and then had to go out but came back a few hours later and did some flags and GHRs. I should mention that my little 20lb bar is so bent and deformed now that I cannot hold it properly on my back, I usually wrap my thumb on top of the bar to grip it but had to try thumbs around bar and still could not get it in a good position, same goes for benching.Fuck I am going to have to buy myself a new bar probably olympic, which means all new plates too.Fuck, this is getting expensive!!
Anyone know where I can pick up a reasonable priced bar that wont bend, preferably in Australia? or anyone that will ship to Aus. |
well it took it a few years to bend....you could just get another standard bar.....maybe have ross's buddy travis hook you something up.

Thats the 2nd one I have trashed, it didnt take that long to bend!! I might get another normal bar and use the trashed bar for deadlifts and band work.The bands are what really trash it LOL

You're at a point now where I wouldn't expect any other 20lb bar to last much longer. I think you're better off just spending the money now and get a standard bar and weights. Maybe you can find a used set for cheap? That would probably be your best bet.

Pressed off the 3 board first up, felt like ass cos the stupid fucking bar is hard to grasp properly AAAGGGHHH the only lift it doesnt really fuck with is deadlifts.Got some solid work in but it was just hard to set up right.Skipped speedy bench and did some MPs, finished with dumbell rows and some bench dips.
