You're about as American as chop suey.

You go over 90% for triples before a max attempt? If you do, one large reason is that there is a lot more weight between 90% and 100% for you. EDIT: Now that I think about it, that shouldn't necessarily matter.

That's interesting though. Do you remember your warm up / acclimation before attempting 500?

i think talo is confused

i think he's thinking in a regular workout...he would hit a triple above 90%...and so would i....just not before a max attempt.

I am only taking about acclimating for a PR attempt.

And yes 80% was "ball parking it." The no triples over 80% and no doubles over 90% is probably a better rule.

An article showed up on t-nation on how to warm-up for a 1RM attempt after I started this thread. Hmmm... I wonder if its one of you guys who ended up writing it?
