ME Squat Day

GAY,planned on testing my max free squat today, worked up and up to 140kg on the bar,I just couldnt hit depth!! I have never had this trouble before (except when I first started).I guess all the close stance ME work I have been doing is fucking with my mojo!! anyways my low back is feeling pain free but I struggled to get a decent arch too.I am really annoyed with how today went.I did 3 singles with 140kg, the last one a quarter squat because I just felt loose as I went down.I think my low back is weak from the injury I have just moved past,I dunno?I am so fucking pissed right now.Finished with rollouts for 2 sets and then some pullthrus.FUCK.

ME Squat Day 7/12/08
Squat 2x1 140kg (all high)
Rollouts 2x10
Pullthrus 1x8 90kg (back felt iffy)

I should add that I worked out a day earlier than planned because of this week being my last at work before xmas it will be hectic.I may only squeeze in 1 more session before flying out for vacation.

Where you're currently at, you can and quite frankly should be doing more free squatting. In my first year conjugate training, I increased my wide parallel squat almost 100 lbs from a max effort list of olympic, front, wide, and LOW box squatting (med stance). When you get a chance, look back at my old journal and what I did. Whatever the fuck it was, it worked! Full Speed Ahead

Regarding depth on those vids, I think you're really close. It's a mental thing, not physical IMHO. If you focused on going a little deeper, it wouldn't have been too tough.

Your depth is damn close. You're a hair over paralell or right at paralell on some I'd say. I'm not sure why you're surprised that you squatted less when doing free squat? I added 15lb to my PR just by box squatting. I think you need to compare apples to apples.

Anyways, 140kg is great man! I'm not even there yet. Keep it up.
