I would say dips are a bigger movement than bench. All things being equal I think that a new trainee would get further training dips heavy and using bench as a supplemental exercise, rather than the other way around. But people have this weird fascination with benching.

i feel you AC. there are people who can bench 300 and up and cant do dips or pushups to save their lives. but if you get good at dips and pushups that def equats to the bench more IMO.

and i feel like OH pressing is better than benching
