Deads: You're shooting your ass up as soon as you pull, its more like an SDL than a conv. dead. Instead of trying to stand up with the barbell focus on hip extension. Push your ass and hips forward instead of up.
Yup thats why SUMO rules.I just suck ass at conv. always have even with light weight thats how it looks for me.

As for the barbell squats, Na they werent too heavy, my stance was way wider on my Barbell squat and having the weight out in front of you ala goblets does make depth easier. Will bring my stance in again this friday and see how it goeth.I usually cant get depth with a light weight in my normal wide stance so I know its not a case of the weight being too much to allow form.

Don't go blaming conventional deads . I'd say its your hips and not the movement.

Care to elaborate on goblets making depth easier?

it's easier to stay upright with the weight out in front....but...the narrower stance makes it easier to get lower

You are more than likely right about my conv. pulls. mate, actually my last sumos didnt look great either, I may be developing some bad habits here Kane.Good call.

As for goblets, well I am at work and cant view the last squat vid or the goblet squats right now to compare but I would venture to say that I can stay much more up right with the goblets as opposed to the free squats, making depth a tad easier.

Lightly grab onto the edge of a desk or your rack and go down into as deep a squat as you can. That should tell you something about your lack of depth.

I got lots of vids up of me hitting depth, just not wide a nice super wide stance.I guess I'll have to bite down and bring my stance in if I want to keep these squats legal.Either way I'll keep working on my hips etc.

Which sucks ass cos wide rules.
